Job Description/requirements:

 1 Screens patients for possible nutritional risk and further nutritional/food service needs.*

 2 Assesses patients and makes appropriate care plans.*

 3 Counsels patients and/or family in appropriate diet or nutrition therapy.*

 4 Documents and communicates nutritional data appropriately.*

 5 Participates in the planning and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.*

 6 Provides continuing education and acts as a resource person to other staff members.*

 
Position is required to have competence to assess, treat and/or care for the age groups indicated by check marks.

EXPERIENCE

Required - American Dietetic Association approved dietetic internship or other approved route to registration. 

Preferred - One or more years in clinical nutrition.

EDUCATION

Required - B.S. degree with a major in Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition, or other approved route to R.D.

            Registered Dietitian (R.D.) by the American Dietetic Association or proof of registration within 6 months of hire date.

            Preferred – RD and at least 1 year of clinical experience.
